There are certain cars you can walk around and immediately sense that they have been well cared for. This 1966 Corvette coupe is one of those cars. The beneficiary of a frame up restoration, this well-optioned investment grade car is an excellent example of what makes the second generation of Corvette so desirable.

Look down the sides and you won't see an over restored body with razor straight lines. Instead, you'll find a great looking example of how those fiberglass shells actually looked when they were new. Covered in a glossy coat of Rally Red, the aggressive lines of the second generation Corvette are as eye-catching as ever.

Lift the fiberglass hood and you'll find the original 327 small block V8 rebuilt to the same specifications that produced an advertised 300 horsepower in '66. The alternator is a later piece but nearly everything else is correct including heads, intake manifold, exhaust manifolds, radiator, carburetor and the freshly rebuilt factory air conditioning compressor. Limited life pieces such as belts and hoses have been replaced using GM-branded reproduction pieces. The vintage exhaust note comes courtesy of factory manifolds breathing through correct side-exit exhausts.

Behind the 327, a numbers matching Muncie 4-speed with a fresh clutch handles power application while a stock rear end sends that power to the road. The suspension consists of rebuilt stock pieces that provide an impressive driving experience even by today's standards. Power steering and power disc brakes further enhance that experience. The undercarriage has the look of a car that has been well cared for its entire life. Like the engine bay, it's clean but not over restored in any way. At the corners, chrome knock-offs with three bar spinners add some extra style to the car.

The interior has been judiciously restored. Chrome pieces have been re-chromed and the gauges are rebuilt but there are very few, if any, aftermarket pieces present. There is an impressive list of options inside including factory air conditioning, power windows, AM/FM radio, power antenna and the rare telescopic steering column. The seats look and feel new as does the carpet and headliner.

Documentation for this Corvette includes pictures of the car before its restoration. There is also a comprehensive stack of receipts.

If you've been searching for a classic Corvette that looks and, more importantly, feels right don't miss your opportunity to make this stunning '66 yours. Call, click or visit http://www.rkmotorscharlotte.com for more information on this awesome car.
