These are the nine goals Alan Smith scored for Leeds United during the first season of his career (1998/1999 - 18 years old).

Smith debuted at the 13th match of Premier League, facing Liverpool, at Anfield. He scored the equalizing goal on the very first kick of his, after coming in from the bench at the second half. Leeds ended up winning the game by 3 -1.

On the following match, Smith scored his first goal at Elland Road, on a 4 - 1 win over Charlton Athletic.

This was the only season he were the number 39. Smith played 26 games, 9 of those coming in as a sub, and still went on to be second topscorer of the team.

9th -- West Ham 1 x 5 Leeds (Premier League 35th round)

Leeds finished the season at 4th, qualifying for the UEFA Cup first round.
