Arunachal Pradesh is a sensitive state in North East India. Its a bone of contention between India and China and the region Tawang is referred to China as ''Southern Tibet''. China had invaded this region in 1962 in a surprise attack but withdrew just as quickly. To counter any future incursions the Indian Army has colonized the entire state. Cantonments are everywhere and army trucks clog the highways. Tawang Monastery -India's largest Buddhist monastery however still exudes an old world charm. More pics at www.sanjayausta.com
