Spooky! Regular air inside (I think nitrogen takes care of the violet / UV part, and oxygen is bluish white).
Components: random glass jar with strips of copper tape inside, small CCFL transformer driven by two n-channel MOSFETs at somewhere around 80 kHz. Hooked up to a small HVAC vacuum pump normally used for resin casting. Three dots of UV-fluorescent green pigment inside to show the UV component.
