Episode opens with Frank in the office and Ricky comes in to say his summons should be any day. Later Ricky gets a hot prospect for selling a car and the woman agrees to buy it for £1,500 but can't pick it up until tomorrow. Frank tells him there's no sale until they have the money in their hands, but Ricky wants to go to the Vic to celebrate anyway. As Frank is leaving the office that evening, a young vagrant approaches him in front of the lot saying its cold and asks for money for a cuppa.

Frank tries to have a word with Phil. Frank's anxious to know that Phil's going to do the torch that night and asks a lot of questions about what time etc. Phil tells him to leave a little petrol in the cars but not full as he doesn't want it to get out of hand. Then tells Frank that they shouldn't be talking about it. But Frank is clearly worried that Phil may back out on the deal.

Nigel gets Grant and Sharon to sign a reference for him to rent a flat. Them goes to the café and gets Kathy to sign also.

Pat stops Carol to tell her that David can't be Bianca's father.

Bianca has Richard's credit card and she and Natalie use it to send Richard flowers (3 bunches worth £50) with a card from a secret admirer. He sees them on Bridge St and tells them he wants his keys back. Later that evening at Richard's flat, they give him the keys back.

Ian visits David about the stall (they have confirmation of joint ownership from the council) and tells him that he thinks they should sell it to Mark. Mark gets the loan approval from the building society to buy the stall but feels guilty about lying about his health condition to get it although he says he doesn't. But when he tells Arthur about it, it looks like he does worry about it. Richard offers Ian ten and a half grand for the stall. Ian discusses the offer with David and they tell him they'll consider it. Ian visits Mark and tells him that they're going to sell it for £10,500. Shelley is there and gets involved and tries to get Mark to up his bid to £10,750. Mark refuses.

Grant wants to go out that night but Sharon doesn't want to leave the pub, so he persuades Phil to go out with him for a drink and curry at the Palace of India near the Walford depot. They return after closing and Phil goes about setting fire to the car lot as he lights the trail of petrol after dousing the cars a tank explodes knocking him over hurting his head. Ricky and Pat hear the explosion and wake Frank who is asleep on the sofa. They rush out as the fire brigade arrives as watch as a body is pulled from one of the burning cars.
