UPDATE (02/20/14): Confirmed the team that made Fight Night Champion is working on EA UFC :)+)
On the eve of the release of UFC Undisputed 3 demo I went back to EAs MMA as lately I have wasted countless frantic hours playing FNC (taking a break for now my hands are sore!) Let me say first and foremost I'm a UFC fan. Introduced to mma gaming by UFC Undisputed '09 and enjoyed 10 till spinning that stick got old. As UFC 3 is about to come out in a couple of weeks I can't help but compare EAs MMA to UFC 10 (and now 3!?!)
I have to say I'm a little disappointed with the UFC 3 gameplay videos out there. My main issue is movement. I recently got back to playing a ranked match and decided to put up a fight that was pretty great. This clip is made from a recording which is automatic in EA MMA online fights. in it you'll see features being touted as "new" by UFC 3 actually present in EA MMA like: Fighter entrances, non-stick-spinning submissions, fluid fighter movement. PULL UP A SECOND WINDOW AND PLAY A UFC 3 GAMEPLAY VIDEO NEXT TO THIS ONE. Notice how EA MMA clinch grapple struggle and general movement is much more fluid (2:28 or 4:30) than UFCs robotic movement. EA MMA takes the cake because they realize fight games are more online geared and they offer genre pioneering features like recorded online fights (in case of random AWESOME moment that should be on you tube), online fight cards and live broadcast (seriously google it if you dont know what that is.)
Anyway here's a great fight I had this weekend... (Play 720-1080p in the small screen for true HD)
