What do you do when you have the Appalachian Trail, fresh snow and a day off? Go have fun on it of course. This short section heads out on the A.T. from Carvers Gap at 5512' and goes up to Roan High Knob at 6285'. The Roan High Knob shelter is the highest one on the A.T. The winds at the gap often blow over 100 mph.
