Gunsite Academy instructor Cory Trapp demonstrates the proper way to strip, lubricate, and re-assemble a 1911-pattern pistol, using a Ruger Lightweight Commander for the demonstration.

Last week I was able to visit Gunsite Academy in Arizona for the first (hopefully, NOT last!) time, at an industry event hosted by my pal Robert Leahy of Simply Rugged Holsters. The week was spent visiting old friends and making new ones; testing new products from Simply Rugged Holsters, Ruger Firearms, Double Tap Ammunition, KDM Suppressors, and NFUSED Lubricants; eating good grub; and smoking fine cigars.

One day in the classroom, instructor Cory Trapp demonstrated the proper way to strip, lubricate, and re-assemble a 1911 pistol, using a Ruger Lightweight Commander, which was one of the Ruger products featured. It proved to be a very informative lecture, so I wanted to share it. I hope you enjoy it.
