This is a video blog from The Slants' 2010 Pageantry Tour, presented by G Sake.
This video follows The Slants on their tour leg through Phoenix, AZ; Las Cruces, NM; Granbury, TX; Austin, TX (SXSW) and Houston, TX; and highlights The Slants visit to Fender Music International, hanging out with a famous rock star friend, SXSW Music Festival in Austin, an acoustic in-store appearance at Specs in Austin to promote G Sake, Kamikazecon in Houston, TX, and a barrage of pranks that The Slants pulled on the band Crown Point. Tyler Chen of The Slants also plays drums for Crown Point and they were touring in parallel, sharing numerous shows. Crown Point also consists of members Jon Davidson, Russell Stafford and Robert Fin.
ABOUT THE SLANTS
Portland's The Slants are the only all-Asian American dance rock band in the world. They offer up catchy dance beats, strong hooks, and a bombastic live show that is "not to be missed" (The Westword) They've been featured on NPR's "All Things Considered," Myx TV/Comast Xfinity, and over 1500 radio stations, tv shows, magazines, and websites. The Slants have toured/provided support for The Decemberists, Girl Talk, Men Without Hats, Vampire Weekend, Apl.De.Ap (Black Eyed Peas), and many more.
The band has toured the world and headlined at festivals such as SXSW, MusicfestNW, Asian Street Heritage Fair, and other events. They've toured overseas for the Department of Defense playing for troops serving in Eastern Europe, inside the walls of a maximum security prison, at anime conventions, inside county libraries, and dive bars.
