Healthy Lives After Cancer presented a health seminar for young adult survivors on November 7, 2009 at Santa Monica Public Library. We talked about survivors rights at school and work, what can (& cant) be asked during a job interview, and what to do with a gap in a resume. Our speakers included the Director of the Office for Students with Disabilities at Cal State Los Angeles, an Occupational Health Specialist, and a Disability Rights Advocate. We also had an amazing survivor panel including representatives from UCLA Colleges Against Cancer (not included in video~had to be there!). The panel gave great advice from their real world experience. Be sure to check out the list of survivor scholarships.
