Every winter, avalanches threaten highways and railway lines in Canada's Mountain National Parks. Travel by air through Banff, Yoho and Kootenay national parks with our Visitor Safety Specialists as they perform helicopter explosive control on some of Canada's western Canada's most important transportation corridors.

This team effort includes many Parks staff members including highway staff who are on stand-by to clean up any debris that reaches the roadway to ensure routes can be reopened quickly.
