Hit dead on with a thunderstorm responsible for wind damage and hail across NYC and Long Island on 6/24/10. As it hit my neighborhood, it was time to break out the FlipCam.

This is the same storm that missed the crews and volunteers of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition as they were reconstructing a house in Setauket.

I honestly don't know who I was talking to, but I had to take it all in. It was one of the most intense storms I've been through.

The storm had three parts...Rain, Wind, Hail.
About :13 in, a large part of a tree went down. This brought some wires with it. Neighbor's flagpole was bending about :57 in. Then the hail started, on cue with what I was saying. I was standing in the sun room...the tin roof enhanced the sound of the hailstones falling. They were pea-sized stones.

I gotta fix that gate.

About 7 minutes in...I had a, uh, moment when I saw a rainbow.

The playground was left there from the old owners. Sorry, we have no kids.
