Young Eagles event at Albert Whitted airport, KSPG, 2009. This is a non-profit event that introduces kids to aviation and flying. It shows the countless careers and abundant history surrounding aviation - piloting is just one of them. Completely driven by volunteers and private pilots who donate their airplanes, time and fuel. Insured and assembled by EAA.

I did not take these video clips, another member did. I compiled all of the clips into a smooth video to support the event. Albert Whitted airport is in St. Petersburg, Florida, which very nearly suffered the fate of Meigs Field in Chicago, but through immense work and public support of events like these and others... they were able to save the airport. Rick Baker, mayor of St. Petersburg, was not much help. Fortunately he did not turn out to be the criminal Mayer Daley of Chicago was when he illegally plowed up Chicago's waterfront airstrip.
