Leitmotives from Richard Wagner's Der Ring des Nibelungen (Ring Cycle).
This leitmotif is known as "Wehwalt" from Die Walküre (The Valkyrie) which is first heard in the first act. This leitmotif represents the name that Siegmund gives to himself, "Wehwalt" or "Woeful One." Siegmund at this point does not know his name. The leitmotif, "Wälsungs" tends to follow right after this leitmotif.
