OZ was a Finnish Heavy Metal band, formed in Nakkila in 1977. OZ was one of the very first bands of it's kind in Finland. After the first two albums, band decided to move to Sweden, for to hope of bigger bucks, for the rock industry in Finland was still extremely under-developed. OZ's bassist and the main songwriter Jay C. Blade ( aka Jukka Homi ) incorparted occultistic features in to the song lyrics, but dropped them out, once OZ received a royalty check for "Turn the Cross Upside Down" EP in the amount of 666 SEK. After their album "Decible Storm" the band broke up, leaving only the lead singer Ape de Martini ( Tapani Anselm ) and the drummer Mark Ruffneck ( Pekka Mark ) continuing with new Swedish members. Another disbading took place after "Roll the Dice" album in 1991.

The band has recently been resurrected, featuring the original Finnish line-up and they've released a promo single "Dominator" in 2011.
