In 1990, Dr. Linnea Smith began practicing medicine in Peru, on the edge of the Amazon River, and she continues to work there caring for the local people. She talks of life in the rainforest, the evolution of her small clinic and the challenges of attempting to provide medical care in an area lacking basic services, let alone advanced medical technology.
