An Die Freude (Ode To Joy) W/ Lyrics

"Ode to Joy" from Beethoven's 9th Symphony. Performed by the South German Philharmonic, a recording of which is used on the basis of fair use.

The lyrics were originally a poem written by Friedrich Schiller in the 18th century and adapted by Beethoven for the 4th movement of his 9th symphony. The purpose of this video is to convey the meaning of the lyrics, and certain purely orchestral sections were removed. Full performances are abundant.

THE TRANSLATION IS FAR FROM PERFECT. I just hope it's accurate enough to get the overall sense across. If I still had the project files I'd be more than happy to fix mistakes as people pointed them out, but it has been nearly six years now since I made it, and those files are several dead hard drives in the past now. I hope that the errors, such as they are, don't ruin the video.
