UPDATE: WEST CARROLLTON--Police said a man fired a deadly shot that killed a young woman. Ira Perkins, 70, was arrested on a charge of reckless homicide. Investigators said Perkins and his son were having an argument in Perkins' Marcy road home, and he shot at the wall to get his son's attention. Perkins told police, he didn't know his son's girlfriend, Brittany Geiger, 25, was on the steps, on the other side of a thin wall. The bullet hit Geiger in the head, neck area. She was found dead in the home. The wall was probably just two sheets of dry wall. Drywall does not stop a bullet . West Carrollton Police Chief Rick Barnhart said. A neighbor, who doesn't want to be identified, has lived close to Ira Perkins for years. Ira wouldn't intentionally do it. He's a pretty good guy. He'll do anything for you. Our thoughts and compassion go to them. The neighbor said. Perkins bond was set at 100,000. His next court date is May 13.
