Part 8
Ice Cave

See Part 1 for a general description.

I go directly from Gurgu Volcano to Ice Cave where I use a House and then enter.

Even at Level 23 there are enemies that can instantly kill party members, so Ice Cave is always a risk. I get unlucky and end up with two dead Fighters early on (maybe I shouldn't have chosen to attack that group of Mages...), but make it out without major incident. I also pick up the Ice Armor while there.

Next I go on a spending Binge. First I purchase the Bottle, then get my Class Change on the way to Gaia. (The Class change is needed so that the Red Mage can learn Exit, Warp, and LIFE) At Onrac I purchase 4 ProRings, revive my dead fighters, and visit the Fairy. Next I maek the short trip to Crescent Lake where I purchase Exit and INV2. I don't really need the latter, but I have extra GP due to my decision to level up to 23 at the Agamas instead of stopping at Level 22.

Next I make an error. I stop in Elfland and Coneria to purchase CURE and CUR2 for my fighers, but they are never able to use these spells because of their insuffient levels, so it was just a waste of time.

Finally, I return to Melmond to purchase LIFE and WARP. As it turns out I never need LIFE in this run, but you never know.

The party is still at Level 23.
