ICASA is holding public hearings to examine the prospects of implementing Digital Sound Broadcasting services in the country. The independent regulator says the aim of the hearings is to explore ways in which South Africa can deploy digital radio sound. It says the implementation of digital broadcasting services will improve spectrum efficiency and management and would offer more choice for consumers in line with the fourth industrial revolution.
