This time-lapse show the ice giant Uranus passing incredibly close to the bright star "44 Piscium". It covers the period from the 5th September to the 28th September 2012.

The time-lapse shows two different sequences: one with Uranus moving against a fixed star field; the other fixed on Uranus with the star field moving behind.

I have also included an image of Uranus and its satellites Oberon, Titania and Umbriel taken on the 24th Sept 2012 when Uranus was incredibly close to the star 44 Piscium.

As requested, there's an animated GIF version here: http://goo.gl/ExEDR
