This is the first version of an award winning poem about a young Anzac in the Australian Light Horse Regiment who died at the charge of Beersheba in 1917. The poem explores the suffering of loved ones who waited at home in vain, and the eerie telepathic signs some received in Australia at the moment of his passing on the other side of the world. A 2014 version of this poem has been posted.
