I show you one of the most basic real spark effect which can be made from a standard sparkler and some pyrotechnic grade metals. If your after real dropping sparks of any size and style this is the safe and easy way to do it.

These days I see many people will steer towards a CGI or composite blue / green screen effect in a video, lets never forget there are also the good old fashioned real physical special effects effects which look so good because the effects interact with the environment they are used in. A composite effect does not interact.

And also, I seem to have come across the most epic fail sparkler ever, considering I used the same brand in a recent video with lots of success I am wondering whats going on in the sparkler market place.

Metallic fuel, mandatory to make sparks; size of particles influences appearance of the sparks
Aluminium or magnesium or magnalium, producing white sparks
Iron, producing orange branching sparks
Titanium, producing rich white sparks
Ferrotitanium, for yellow-gold sparkles
