A Union Pacific ballast regulator makes its way east past the North Dakota Avenue crossing on May 2, 2012. At about 1:04, the light of an eastbound manifest train pokes out from behind the trees. The crossing gates get to go up after the regulator goes by, just to come bsck down again for the mixed freight a few seconds later.
The manifest activates the defect detector just before it reaches the crossing. The engines on the train are all SD9043MACs. Two are on the front and a third is midway through the train acting as a distributed power unit (that seems familiar: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GsI10I...).
