Anoka is the Commonwealth Youth Award recipient for Excellence in Development Work 2012/2013 and was featured 3rd on the 25 World's Most Influential and Powerful Young People list of 2012. The 2010 SAARC Youth Award recipient for outstanding environmental protection and climate change mitigation, Anoka started volunteering and activism for social development and environmental protection at age 14 and has a track record of excellence in projects with positive impacts in development. One of Sri Lanka's first and youngest World Economic Forum Global Shapers due to her extensive work in the field of development and social entrepreneurship, Anoka is an Ashoka Foundation Youth Venturer, British Council Global Changemaker and Climate Champion.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience.
