Scientists from the Max Planck Institute for Ornithology in Seewiesen, Germany, have discovered that bats mistake smooth horizontal surfaces for water. The video shows a Greater Horseshoe Bat (Rhinolophus ferrumequinum) in captivity catching a moth attached to the ceiling.
