Deb Flashenberg, founder of NYC's Prenatal Yoga Center,is an experienced labor doula and Childbirth Educator. She says her job is mainly to provide emotional and physical support for mom in the delivery room

But actual doula services run the gamut. They help pregnant women with pregnancy and childbirth. They help you come up with a birth plan and tips on signs of labor and how to deal when you are in labor.

In the delivery room, a doula midwife can do pregnancy massage, bring ice chips, and help ease the birth pain.
