Jeff is awarded the 2015 Humanitarian of the Year award from the New Rochelle Chamber of Commerce, for founding The Jeffrey Deskovic Foundation for Justice and for his ongoing advocacy work. Note: to correct a few minor mistakes of fact in the video: 1) the name of the organization is "The Jeffrey Deskovic Foundation or Justice", not the Jeff Deskovic Foundation for Social Justice 2) Jeff already graduated with a Masters Degree 3) the civil jury awarded Jeff $41.6 million dollars, but because of a pre-trial agreement with Putnam County, Putnam only had to pay $6 million, out of which Jeff had to pay expenses and then pay the lawyers a 3rd. 4) The Innocence Project exonerated Jeff; attorney Murray Richman, though a friend of Jeff's, was not involved in Jeff's exoneration 5) Jeff won New York 1's "New Yorker of the Week" award; it was not an award from the Daily News 6) Jeff is currently trying to get into law school, he is not working on his PHD
