Since this video got much more attention than expected:

First of all: She had a pidgeon shortly before this video was taken and she is not starving at all :O

Second.
This was a very exceptional moment. Her reaction surprised me as well. She lost her companion a while before this video was taken. She was young and still needed affection! Now she is going to join a rehab program in Scandinavia and will hopefully be set free there one day.

Third.
Please note that owls CANNOT be kept without a lot of experience and professional knowledge, and they surely shouldn't be kept as pets. Owls also shouldn't be used for any unnatural way of entertaining humans, for example owl cafés. The owls at these places don't look fine because they're happy, they look fine because it's their nature to hide any sickness or weakness or bad feelings as long as they can. To be mentally and physically healthy they they need what they're made for: A huge space to fly, which they definitely don't get in a café or a living room.
I do not support the current "I want one"-exotic pet Internet hype. I will not let comments like these pass through my inbox. Please do your research before blindly joining a movement that harms animals more than it helps them. This goes for owls and any other animal as well.

I have volunteered at the wildlife rehab only for some time, but now I don't live in Germany anymore.
The people who permantly work there are still doing their best for wildlife every single day. If you want to support them, drop me a message :)
