Please sign our petition at: http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/pl... - CLIP DESCRIPTION: It all began as a dream for the late Laurel and Hardy museum curator Bill Cubin but now, 17 years later thanks to funds raised by the 'sons of the desert', the Laurel and Hardy statue has now been erected in Stan Laurel's home town of Ulverston in Cumbria.
Comedy legend Ken Dodd performed the unveiling ceremony and a great day was had by over 2000 fans from all over the world. Press and television coverage was full on and I was lucky enough to be given a place in the press area right at the front so here's some extended and exclusive footage from the day which you didn't see on the news. The sun was shining in Ulverston and I congratulate my fellow sons of the desert for this wonderful achievement. Bill Cubin would have been very proud of this moment which left us all with a lump in our throats. Thanks to Eric Woods for taking the bull by the horns and fronting the campaign to raise the funds.
