My first EVER attempt at: - shooting any kind of video - using Canon 5D mk II for video - video editing
3 days of shooting, 1 day of video converting, 1 day of video editing. Each day of filming got me about half an hour of material (battery just wouldn't last longer on -11C degrees), so in total I had about 1 and half hour to work with. Of course, I messed up a lot of shots, trying to learn how to use the video-mode...
I didn't have a video tripod either (left it at home :P) so most of the panning shots were done by trying to make a smooth move using normal photo tripods. It was pain in the a**, and the panning shots are not perfect, but what the heck. I used Edius system with Canopus hardware for video editing.
Having no previous experience with filming video, 5D mk II, or editing, I can say it was still lot's of fun and sure got me hooked up on video-world.
