I'm calling shenanigans on the mega channels. I know there are sites out there where you can buy subscribers/views/likes/faves/comments (upload enough videos and you'll get them sent to you via YT messaging). I'm not saying that the long standing successful channels have, or do that sort of thing, but I do wonder about channels that seem to appear from nowhere and have a "business agenda".

Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with making money, hell if I could quit my job and make stupid for videos for YT as a job then I'd do that too. But over the past 18 months YouTube has 'forgotten' about the smaller channels. The only time you will find a smaller channel in related videos is on really obscure topics such as *ahem* indie and retro games.

Go to a MW3 or BF3 video and you'll be hard pressed to find a related video with less than 10,000 views on it. Go to recommended channels and..... well this video shows you what to expect.

How do you get 10,000 views? 100,000 subscribers? Make dick jokes(?). I'm not bothered about my subscriber count (it's been going south for months anyway), but what does bother me is the YT Bullshit Train, and the people who are on it.

Working hard on your channel and putting out good content WILL NOT make your channel popular. You heard it here first.

And the tags are what YT generated, so they must be legit. Right?
