Margaret Louise Hines was the first Helen Kane Sound-alike hired by the fleischer studios to perform the singing and the voice overs for the first appearances of the anthropomorphic canine in the earlier talkartoon series. the animated character later became known as (Betty Boop). Margie provided the vocals from (1930) - (1932), She also did voice work for Various Van Beuren Cartoons & Tom & Jerry/Dick & Larry.

According to a transcript Margie hientz was suppost to have played the Live Role of (Betty Boop) in Musical Justice (1931) but for some unknown reason was replaced by Mae Questel. Instead Margie Hines can be seen here singing in (1933).

Margie Hines finished the Betty Boop Cartoon Series as Betty Boop from (1938) - (1939).

Margie Hines was the first wife of Jack Mercer from (1939) - to the early (1940s), they later divorced. Marge also voiced Olive Oyl from (1938) - (1943) but when Mae Questel returned she was replaced. Margie Hines also has a minor voice part as Mrs Lady Bug in Mr Bug Goes to Town.
