20 years old South African fresh and promising talent Nkanyiso Mhlongo, well known as "Blaq Soul", grew up in Durban (South Africa) Raised by a single mother (Makhosi Mhlongo). At the age of 14 he was already familiar with the genre "House Music", as his older brother & friends used to listen to it. In 2006, As a passionate young boy who had lots of dreams & fantasies he was very willing to be a house music producer and put together his musical influence from the deep, tribal, & African sounds that were delivered by the likes of Osunlade, Boddih Satva, Jose Marquez, Manoo Kosi, & Alton Miller. Being a producer lead to being a Dj. Inspired by his older brothers, "Soule Villain", "Dj Biggy", "Dj Ice" as they use to take him with them when they would play in parties. He learnt a lot from people & applied the fruit of his young musical and life experience to his music & his Deejaying Skills. At the age of 19, after so much that he had learnt, he was so sure that he was ready to go out and share his music with the rest of the world. In October 2009 after attending the SAMC he approached Petro Stanthouses from afrodesiamp3 who was very impressed by the fresh tribal rhythms he received from this young producer and he was more than happy to offer him their service. Within a short space of time his music became sought after by DJs worldwide and has had a lot of international licensing requests and remixes work to boot. Under his label "Blaq Soul Music" his catalogue has grown impressively and also his status as one of South Africa's most talented producer. Again, afrodesiamp3 was more than happy to artist him when he requested help to obtain the rights to remix Busi Mhlongo's works. Robert Trunes who was very helpful & who understood Blaq Soul's Music gave him a chance. & one thing lead to another and after the huge success of the chart topping Awukhu' Muzi (Blaq Soul's dance mix) it was inevitable that he had to do more remixes. This lead to the birth of a huge offering which featured a variety of remixes by Blaq Soul of some of the most prolific artists under the MELT2000 stable. Growing up in Durban (KZN) was more of an advantage than a disadvantage (as a house music producer) for him. Kwa-Zulu Natal the most traditional Province in S.A has an impact on his music; it's African, Tribal, & Deep. He grew up seeing and listening to the traditional songs, the way the Zulu people sing and play their instruments " Drums caught my attention as I grew up" the way they play and dance to them is inspiring to this young black Zulu boy. "I want to be the best that I can be as I still want to grow stronger & learn more" "THE ZULU AMBASSADOR" reflects the name "Blaq Soul", a young black, Zulu & African boy who grew up in a small township called KwaNdengezi (KwaZulu Natal). "Zulu" is well known for its traditional music, beliefs, culture and its one of the 11 South African Tribes.
