The USAID Climate Change and Clean Energy Project initially produced a children's storybook on renewable energy sources entitled "R.E. (Renewable Energy) Troopers" as part of the project's Information, Education and Communication (IEC) campaign.
"R.E. Troopers" is a story about Simon the Sun representing solar energy, Wendy the Wind as wind energy, Henry the Hydro depicting hydroelectric energy, Mikko the Corn as biomass and Gio as geothermal energy.
"R.E. Troopers" aims to educate children and youth about renewable energy sources. It was converted into an animated environmental cinema advertisement to reach a greater number of audience, including adults.
