Once you have your main idea sorted out and the structure sketched, it's time to add variations, fills, transitions to make the story line more fluid. When it comes to musical arrangements in Ableton, it's easy to use PUSH to play with some sliced sounds and see where it leads to. In this case, I'm adding a bit more of an organic by using field recordings and jamming some melodies on the fly. It gets ugly but then I show how I organize the chaos as I go.
