Concept #1 - limited inventory.
Retail Mafia II features unlimited inventory for the main character. If the game is to be made more realistic, inventory should be properly limited. With the mod applied, player character can hide only one handgun in a jacket. Rest of weapons can be only carried and are discarded the moment player wants to take some other item.

Of course nice extension would be selective invnentory limiting, based on player's outfit. With underwear player would not be able to store any weapon in the inventory. With jacket/shirts oufits, player could store only one handgun inthe inventory. With long coat outfits, player could store two handguns and one rifle in the inventory. Such a feature would encourage the player to obtain and wear more expensive outfits, as they would mean a tactical advantage.

Concept #2 - hit reactions and low health critical mode.
Player character is stopped for a while and performs a reaction when it is harmed by a gunfire. If health of the player character drops below a certain threshold, each additional damage causes the player character to enter a low health critical mode.

In a low health critical mode avatar's abilites are limited, for example avatar cannot scale obstacles, cannot use weapons and has slower movement. This state fades away after a set time interval. Purpose of low health critical mode is to discourage a player from rushing A.I. enemies head-on, to create a tension in a combat and to introduce an element of worry - player has to take care of the avatar as if avatar was alive, e.g. not take unneccessary risks. Through this, player slowly forms a sort of an attachment with the game character, which has positive impact on player's perception of the game's story and rises chances player will be satisfied with the product.
