Last Sunday the John Elliott film crew went to Tony Dullard's Clyde hotel in Carlton to film Ash Keating and his New Orleans jazz band, The Louisiana Shakers put on a terrific 3 hour performance where 5 guest musicians and a female jazz singer joined in for last 30minute session. Ash said it was one of the biggest crowds for some time. Another highlight was when a 6 year old boy drummer was invited on stage to display his drum playing talents (he played the previous week) much to crowds delight.

During the last 30 minute bracket, The Shaker's guest musicians included a cornet player (John Roberts), a trombone player (Philip Edwards), a drummer (Lyn Wallis) and two clarinet players (John Kelly & Frank Stewart) plus Kay Younger who sang "All of Me" However, the Clyde really started to shake just before 5pm when all 9 musicians got on stage to produce one of the best jazz sessions seen and heard at the Clyde.

All this was captured on the 15 minute film recording below as well as several photos taken on the day.

Special thanks to Tony Dullard, to Ash and the Shakers for letting us film this entertaining 3 hour jazz session at the Clyde to reveal why it's Carlton's best kept secret. Also thanks to our producer and cameraman, Justin Joffe of www.MOTIONSUITES.com for putting this together for our viewers.

The Shakers will be on stage next Sunday at 2 pm but get their early, entry is free with drinks at bar prices.
