Even though microwave ovens are part of daily household appliances, people are still worried about the food’s nutritional and safety aspect. There are various myths which people tend to believe and question the efficiency of microwave oven in heating the food commodity. We, Food Engineering Club (at Washington State University) thought to utilize our learning and resources to shed some light on these unaware facts and safety points of operating microwave ovens by organizing an informative talk.
What is the mechanism of its heating food so quickly? Will microwaved food lead cancer or less nutrient? What types of containers could we use in microwave heating? In this microwave talk, we collected scientific data and publications to answer these questions in a simple and easy way.
