On September 28, 2014, the 90th Anniversary celebration honoring the First Flight Around the World which ended at Naval Air Station Sand Point, Washington (now part of Magnuson Park). The four Douglas World Cruisers had taken off nearly 6 months earlier, with two successfully completing this historic flight. The aircraft were operated by the U.S. Army with Army aircrew, and they were assisted by Navy and Coast Guard crews at various locations. Many thanks to the Seattle World Cruiser Project website from which most of the photos for the lead-in slide show were taken.
