A Summerhouse Inspired By Fisherman’s Sheds, Charming Small House Design
Some of the old fisherman’s sheds have been replaced by small summerhouses. Today’s tiny cottage is within the same cluster of sheds alongside the harbor.
Like the previous cottage, this one was built to match the traditional sheds. It has a simple shape with a gable roof and is clad in vertical board siding. Large wooden doors open to reveal glass patio doors behind.
Both cottages have a rectangular floor plan with 35 m2 (375 ft2) of space, but this one is wider while not as long. Because of that, although the two cottages appear similar on the outside, they have different room layouts.
Instead of having the kitchen and bathroom in the middle of the house, between the living room and bedroom, they were pushed to the side in this cottage. The open living area with the kitchen lining one wall looks more spacious than the L-shaped layout of last week’s cottage, and the kitchen also gains an extra storage closet.
