Finishing Creme Brulee with or without a kitchen torch or blowtorch
RECIPE: 6 individual servings of Creme Brulee 2Tbs of white sugar per serving Kitchen torch or broiler in your oven
Using your kitchen torch: Let your Creme Brulee come to room temperature. Take out if fridge 30minutes before serving. Sprinkle with 2 Tbs of sugar and tap around dish to create an even layer. Put your kitchen torch on high and go over the sugar until it is all melted and slightly brown. Stop and let sugar settle. Go over again until there are some burnt spots and the whole thing has a golden brown color.
Using your broiler: Take Creme Brulee directly from the fridge. It will heat up a little bit in the over. If you dont have a kitchen torch you can use your broiler. Sprinkle the top of the Creme Brulee with 2 Tbs of sugar and tap around so it's even. Put your broiler on high and put Creme Brulee as close to the flame as possible, keep a close eye on it and turn if necessary. Remove when golden brown and slightly burnt and ENJOY!!
