The closing day of the festival, the winning side of town pulls the 3 storey high all-wooden chariot (with no brakes!) through medieval alleys. Every year 3 to 5 people die in the mayhem. Despite warnings of danger from locals we pressed our way into the crowds to see the chariot passing. Currently stuck on the curb, a team of rope pullers coordinate to straighten the chariot so that it rolls unimpeded downhill.
