A large (~5.5 m, 18 feet) Saltwater crocodile (Crocodylus porosus) basking and gaping on the banks of the Kinabatangan River, Danau Girang, Lower Kinabatangan, Sabah, Malaysia. The gape shows the palatal valve that seals the throat when the crocodile is submerged. IUCN = Lower Risk/Least Concern.
