I was coming home from McDonalds and I wanted to see if anything was going on in the Portland area and my grandmother, my sister, and I drove around and I saw this lined up sitting in front of Congress St. waiting for a clear signal. So we rode beside it and turned around and all of a sudden, there was a huge bang and it was the train starting to move so I was anxious to see it and I wanted to go to Brighton Ave. to see it because it was already half-way through at the other place. There is a string of crossings in the Portland Area that all got new crossing upgrades like aluminum gates and electric bells. They used to have mechanical bells and I think plexi glass gates. They upgraded because the Downeaster is going to be coming through here like at the end of 2012. Anyway, the crew on here was freindly because they gave a couple blasts of the horn in a no horn zone. So that was cool. At the end of the video, you will see 2 crossings go off and they are: Lincoln St. and Ashmont St. (Ashmont St. was where I lived untill I was 3).
Enjoy!!
