True theology is driven by the love of God. Benedict XVI noted this at the general audience catechesis dedicated to explaining the meaning St. Bonaventure's work to the faithful. The Pope emphasized the relationship and differences between this medieval saint and St. Thomas Aquinas, pointing out how both scrutinized the mysteries of Revelation with the resources of human reason.
