Mindlight is a video game designed to equip children 8 – 12 years of age with evidence-based skills to combat anxiety. In the game, a young Arty is left to explore a scary mansion, once the home of his nurturing grandmother. Arty discovers the glowing headset, Teru, whose luminescent powers hold the key to Arty bringing his grandmother back from the land of the shadows. Only by staying calm and focused can Arty unleash the potential of his powerful mind and overcome his greatest fears.
Mindlight was developed in a collaboration between psychology researchers at the Play Nice Institute / Radboud University & game developers at GainPlay Studio. Footage is actual gameplay from a beta build. The game uses Neurosky's Mindwave for biofeedback (featured in the video).
Mindlight was nominated for the Most Significant Impact award by Games for Change (2015).
