And then there were 4... Skylar Laine gets booted off Season 11 of American Idol. Hey guys, you're tuned in to ClevverMusic, and we're huge American Idol fans. On last night's show, country powerhouse Skylar Laine was eliminated from the singing competition show. The other potential 'Idol' in the bottom two was show survivor, Hollie Cavanagh, although mentor Jimmy Iovine thought she had strong performances.

The theme for this week was a 1960's song and a British Pop song. Clearly, this played a part in Country darling Skylar's elimination, as this was not exactly her cup of tea. Skylar was a favorite week after week in the competition, as a spunky country girl who wasn't afraid to rock out.

The week's performance night also saw enhanced stage production, were we the only ones that noticed the increasing backup dancers, and actors posing on lover's lane? The band Coldplay performed for the first time on American Idol's elimination night last night, along with American Idol champ, Carrie Underwood.

Skylar was composed and gracious in her defeat, and closed the show with a rendition of Miranda Lambert's 'Gunpowder & Lead'. Her true stage presence and huge vocal power will surely be missed on the show, but this certainly won't be the last we see of Skylar Laine. Do you think the right person went home last night? Tell us by leaving a comment. Subscribe to ClevverMusic for more American Idol updates every week, bye guys!
