Triphasic is easy to adapt to and I keep the lights on at night when on it. I am currently on this schedule right now (11/14/2014) and like it very much. I like being able to sleep in the isolation tank during the day nap. Waking up from the morning nap though is becoming a lot more challenging and I find myself sleeping in too much.

TOP 5 TIPS for increasing deep sleep quality (better deep sleep = better REM = easier to sleep) :

1. Take the ZMA capsules 1 hour before bed, preferably on an empty stomach. I would not recommend taking ZMA with ho shou wu - use one or the other.

2. Get Vitamin D in the morning by use of a multivitamin or by getting 20+ minutes of sunlight skin exposure.

3. Use the inversion table for 10-20 minutes right before bed.

4. Cut out as much blue-green light in your house from sunset to sunrise by either using orange safety glasses, or by using all red light in your house, including placing red plastic sheets over your computer monitor. I did this when I was on segmented sleep but I don't bother doing it when on triphasic or other schedules.

5. Don't be sedentary. Moving around and using your body will help you get better sleep and you will be able to wake up from your sleep easier too (which is probably more important) and you will feel like you have more vitality. I personally wouldn't body-build when on Uberman, but you could on any other schedule.
