This is the classiest video I've ever uploaded. It's an obscure tamagotchi knockoff! It's obscure because it sucks, hardcore. I ordered this one out of a Scholastic catalogue, but I've also seen them at certain discount stores. It's full name on the plain white box it comes in, is 'Kids IR Virtual Pet'. Indeed it has an IR sensor, but I don't think anyone was stupid enough to buy two of these... and I despair for the children who convinced their once-upon-a-time friends to buy matching ones. I have quite a few bad knockoff VPs but this one is a special kind of bad. Anyway, this video is of the toy booting. It displays every single possible adult form your pet can evolve to. Which, bee tee dubs, is a completely random selection, your pet is a motionless baby for an hour or two and then unceremoniously becomes some kind of animal or digimon or person. The hearts at the beginning also play when your pet gets 'married', equally as unceremonious. It can happen with the IR feature (clearly they were attempting to compete with the then-recent Tamagotchi Connection) but if it doesn't, after a day or two the screen will randomly just say 'MARRY? YES/NO'. If you select YES, the hearts will show and then your pet will be gone and you'll have a baby to name. It's quite blunt.
Excuse my fat thumbs, there was no other way to record this. One last thing, the fiddling at the end is actually me securing the battery door's place, the screw on it stripped and died approx. 6 seconds after I bought the thing, so the door is held on with Scotch tape.
